Fashion News Roundup: Irene Causes More NYFW Shuffling, A New Twenty8Twelve Look Book and Tennis Fans Heart Anna Wintour

Theyskens’ Theory Takes Marc by Marc’s Old Spot: Irene really did a number on the NYFW schedule. Following Marc Jacobs’ announcement that his show would move from Monday to Thursday due to time lost, it has just been announced that Theyskens’ Theory won’t be showing Monday either. Instead, Olivier is sliding into the Tuesday 4pm slot, which Marc by Marc had until they moved that up to the former Marc Jacobs Collection slot on Monday. It’s like musical chairs! {WWD}

Taylor Lautner Covers V Man: Twilight dreamboat Taylor Lautner is V Man‘s Issue 23 cover star. He looks super intense in this Steven Klein-lensed close-up. {VMan}

Sienna Miller for Twenty8Twelve: Sienna Miller and another model star in Twenty8Twelve’s new look book. The clothes are cute and have major pajama vibes. {NYLON}

The Inevitable KKK-Related Kardashian Gaffe: The only time it isn’t funny to change C’s to K’s in Kardashian mentions is when it ends up sounding like a Klu Klux Klan reference. This is exactly what happened in a Kardashian Kollection press release, which apparently read, “Join the stylish Kardashian klan on September 6th at the private studio of the legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz for an exclusive preview of their fabulous new fashion Kollection for Sears.” 1) Not ok. 2) Can we go to this? {New York Observer}

JC Penney’s Anti-feminist Message: JC Penney is was selling a shirt for young girls that reads, in a cutesy, colorful font, “I’m too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me.” The caption next to it reads, “”Who has time for homework when there’s a new Justin Bieber album out? She’ll love this tee that’s just as cute and sassy as she is.” Yes, we’re serious! The shirt has thankfully been taken off JC Penney’s site since we started writing this. {The Hairpin}

Karl for Macy’s Hits Stores: Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s hit stores today! As usual, Racked was on the front lines a.k.a. Macy’s Herald Square a.k.a. Coco Rochaland, apparently. Shoppers were snatching it up fast, but sales people said they had plenty in stock. {Racked}

Tennis Fans Cheer for Anna: Tennis fan Anna Wintour attended the US Open Monday with her daughter Bee and Roger Federer’s wife. Apparently, the whole crowd cheered when her picture went up on the Jumbotron. {Page Six}

Sebastian Bach's Home Destroyed By Hurricane Irene

sebastian-bach-home-destroyed-by-hurricane-irene.jpg

Poor guy.

Sebastian Bach's New Jersey home was destroyed by Hurricane Irene over the weekend.

A reservoir located on the other side of his home overflowed, which sent a bridge crashing into his property.

After losing all his personal items, including master tapes, videos, and years of rock memorabilia, Sebastian says he feels "numb" after losing his home of 21 years.

His house was featured on MTV's Cribs, but is now "condemned and deemed uninhabitable due to the extreme flooding."

He wrote on this Facebook page:

"I am numb, in shock and devastated to report that my home of 21 years, my house featured on MTV Cribs has been destroyed, condemned and deemed uninhabitable due to the extreme flooding courtesy of Hurricane Irene…

Original Skid Row and Kiss fans, I have bad news for you. Gone are irreplaceable items, such as my Kiss Gargoyles from the 1979 tour. Kiss pinball machine. Skid Row master tapes, video and audio… We will salvage what we can, of course. But how I wish there was a reason to do a box set or something before Hurricane Irene hit. Nobody cared. Now it's too late. Don't know what you got till it's gone, indeed.

This has really taught me that the best things in life are indeed 'free.' What makes me happy is that my children and ex-wife are safe. My dad's art is unharmed. No one got hurt."

That is the most important thing. And thankfully, Sebastian still has a positive attitude after experiencing such a disaster.

We're just so happy that nobody was hurt. Keep safe. You're in our prayers.

Jersey Shore Cast Flown To El Lay In Private Jet To Avoid Hurricane Irene!

jersey-shore-cast-flown-out-of-new-york-to-avoid-hurricane-irene

Phew!

We don't know what we would have done without our heart's true desire there - and you know, her castmembers!

As Hurricane Irene rages up the east coast, a majority of flights out of the New York/New Jersey area have been grounded, but luckily, MTV had some foresight and made sure to fly Jersey Shore castmembers Snooki, Vinny, Deena, and Sammi into Los Angeles last night, via private jet, so they could make it to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday!

Luckily, Pauly D was already in Oklahoma doing a DJ gig, and JWoww was hosting a party in Vegas, so they should also be arriving with no hiccups!

Eh - wherever The Situation is, he can just stay there! LOLz!

Can't wait to see how our guidos and guidettes hit the red carpet this year! Yay!

Gwyneth Paltrow Braves Irene for BookHampton Signing

Posted Saturday August 27, 2011 4:50 AM GMT

Not letting the inclement weather of Hurricane Irene put a stop to her east coast commitment, Gwyneth Paltrow turned up for a fan greeting at BookHampton in East Hampton, New York on Friday evening (August 26).

The Oscar-winning actress warmly greeted her literature loving audience while reading snippets from her new book 'My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness'.

In the Paltrow penned work, the 38-year-old offers up 150 recipes, which are said to "celebrate the joy of preparing food for loved ones she says she learned from her father, the late film and television director and producer Bruce Paltrow."

With proceeds from the day's sales benefiting the East Hampton Food Pantry, BookHampton owner Charline Spektor told local press, "Gwyneth is a great friend and neighbor of our bookstore, and we are delighted to invite the entire community to this great event."

Enjoy the pictures of Gwyneth Paltrow promoting her new book at BookHampton (August 26).
