Is It Ever OK to Change Your Eye Color to Match Your Dress? Deena from Jersey Shore Shows Us How It’s Done
There’s a lot of debate in beauty circles about how matchy-matchy you should get with your makeup and your outfit. Paz de la Huerta took some criticism for seemingly always matching her lipstick to her dress, which we actually think looks pretty good. And there’s an old school ladylike trend happening this fall, where we’ll see more matching lipstick and nail polish. The beauty of makeup is that you can change it, and women have a long history of wanting to change what nature has given them.
But can you–or rather, should you–change the actual color of your features? Deena from Jersey Shore, who is naturally brown-eyed, debuted some light green colored contacts last night at the VMA’s, presumably to coordinate with her very colorful ensemble.
Women change their hair color, their breast size, and their skin color, so why does it seem so unnatural and dramatic to change your eye color? We actually saw quite a few offerings of colored contacts at the recent Cosmoprof convention in Las Vegas. At the time, we thought, “Do people still wear these?” The answer is obviously yes. Eye color is such a unique part of a human being, and the eyes are so expressive, so it seems doubly dramatic to change them. Deena looks really different with a new eye color (see her at the 2010 VMA’s below).
Would you wear colored contact lenses?

Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries: A Match Made in Heaven
With their whirlwind romance taking the fast track to the altar, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are all set to exchange vows in Montecito, California later this evening (August 20).
The E! reality star first became linked to her NBA player fiance back in December of 2010, with the couple quickly becoming inseparable as the next few months saw them take trips around the world with stops including Mexico, Monaco, Miami and Bora Bora.
Taking to her blog to comment on the momentous occasion, Kim wrote, “Today Is The Day. I can’t believe it’s finally here! Thank you so much to everyone who made this day happen!!!!!”
Set to walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang designed gown, the 30-year-old added, “You guys mean the world to me, and I want to thank you for all your love and support. I love you!!!”
With the entire family sending out Twitter messages about the big day, Kourtney excitedly wrote yesterday, "My sister is getting married tomorrow!!!"
Khloe kicked off the messaging this morning as she tweeted, "My sisters getting married today!!!"
Not to be forgotten, little sister Kendall penned, "BIG DAY! My sissy is getting married today!!! So happy for you @kimkardashian! Love youuuu" as Kylie added, "OMG! My sister is getting married today too! #excited"
The wedding happenings will take place mostly underneath a giant tent to thwart paparazzi coverage - as the nuptials are set to air during a two day special on E! on October 8-9th.
