Beyonce Set to Appear at Jackson Tribute Via Satellite

Posted Wednesday August 24, 2011 8:58 AM GMT

She’s one of the top singers in the world, so it’s no wonder Beyoncé Knowles wanted to be included in the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute concert.

But rather than perform in person, the “Crazy in Love” songstress will sing via satellite at the Michael Forever Tribute Concert.

The gig is scheduled to take place on October 8th at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales and Ms. Knowles is blaming a scheduling conflict for not being able to make the show in person.

A concert promoter posted to the Facebook page, "BEYONCE Beams Into Michael Forever Tribute!! A unique, never-before-seen performance by Beyonce of one of her favourite Jackson 5 songs will be shown at the concert on October 8th! A lifelong Michael fan, Beyonce really wanted to be involved in this tribute concert. Due to scheduling issues she can't be there in person, but this performance is not to be missed!"

Hopefully this devastating loss will help him maintain his own sobriety.

Fresh out of a shortened prison sentence for cocaine possession, Pete Doherty has reportedly planned to dedicate his upcoming stint at Reading and Leeds Festival to his deceased dear friend, Amy Winehouse.

A source explains:

“Pete was really good mates with Amy and he’s still really cut up about her death. He hopes to help get rid of his demons by dedicating his festival gigs to her memory. He loved her music and hopes he can do it justice."

With those kind of intentions, we think that he'll do more than do her justice.

We're sure she'd be so appreciative, Pete!

Best of luck!
