CLAIM: Sofia Vergara “Hospitalized,” Oscar Plans “Canceled”

“Sofia Vergara Hospitalized For Surgery: Oscar Plans Canceled?” reads a headline from the know-nothings at HollywoodLife.

According to a report from Jay Penske’s highly inaccurate webloid, Sofia Vergara “won’t be” at the Oscars because “the comedic star has been hospitalized for surgery.”

The silly site even reiterates, “While Sofia is being hospitalized for an operation, her condition is not yet known.”

Here’s what not known: How does HollywoodLies, er, HollywoodLife go on day after day after being repeatedly wrong and shamelessly embarrassed by its subpar reporting?

Anyway, so why was the “Modern Family” star supposedly “hospitalized?

HollywoodLife doesn’t know.

What type of “operation” was she allegedly having?

HollywoodLife doesn’t know.

What were Vergara’s Oscar plans?

HollywoodLife doesn’t know.

That’s because the bogus blog doesn’t know anything.

Gossip Cop, however, checked with a mutual pal of ours and Vergara’s, and we’re told that the actress was “not in the hospital” and was “never scheduled to attend the Oscars.”

Once again, after HollywoodLife is done cleaning up the massive amount of egg on its face, it can make the Gossip Cop team a bunch of omelets.

Justin Timberlake To Play Daddy Warbucks in Annie Remake?

Does Justin Timberlake have another new project on his plate?

The New York Post reports that the singer-actor is being “considered to star as Daddy Warbucks, opposite Quvenzhané Wallis, in the upcoming Jay-Z and Will Smith-produced remake of Annie.”

The paper notes that Timberlake has already joined forces with Jay-Z for his “Suit & Tie” single, as well as the pair’s upcoming “Legends of the Summer” stadium tour.

So, are the superstars set to collaborate on a whole new endeavor?

NO.

Gossip Cop reached out to rep for Sony, the studio behind the Annie remake, and we’re told it’s “not true” that Timberlake is in any kind of talks to join the movie.

And a source close to Timberlake similarly informed us that the New York Post report is “not true.”
