New York Housewife Cindy Barshop Talks Motherhood - Babble (blog)

cindy New York Housewife Cindy Barshop Talks MotherhoodReal New York City Housewife Cindy Barshop is talking motherhood.  Cindy claims to have it all on her own terms, and I’d say she’s pretty close.  She’s the single parent of twin girls, Jessie and Zoe, who she chose to raise by herself (maybe someone should give Andy Cohen and the folks at Bravo the actual definition of the word “housewife” ?), and the owner of the hugely successful Completely Bare hair removal spa.  Motherhood is having a surprising effect on Cindy.  In fact, it’s an almost unheard of side-effect.  She says taking on motherhood has caused her to take more time for herself. You read that right.  Today, you’re hoping to find time to take a shower uninterrupted, and Cindy is finding more time for herself. And  she’s calmer. (Maybe it’s Cindy’s book on parenting that we all need, not Alex’s).

Cindy told Radar Online, “Having kids in my life, has made me such a calmer person.” (WHAT??) “I actually got a house in the Hamptons, I rented it so I could spend more time with the kids.”

I’m going to read between the lines here, and put out there that Cindy means she’s taking time for family activities that were not part of her routine as a businesswoman, pre-kids.  Like the rest of us in late August/early September, she’s taking the kids to get haircuts.  But wait, she did use the word “calmer.”  So, I can’t really explain that one.  I guess that’ll be a mystery for the next season of Real Housewives of New York City to tackle.  While we wait for the new season, I should mention, Cindy has also stated motherhood has forced her to hire new people.  (Okay that seems closer to reality. What mom couldn’t use a staff?) And Cindy’s zen motherhood, is having a positive impact on her career.  She’s been more creative, and even came up with the “vatoo,” or temporary tatoo for the bikini area.  Makes the rest of us look like slackers.

Motherhood Helped Prepare Jessica Alba For 'Spy Kids 4' - Babble (blog)

SPX 0423441 e1313874463958 202x300 Motherhood Helped Prepare Jessica Alba For Spy Kids 4 Jessica Alba says motherhood helped prepare her for 'Spy Kids 4.'

Now the proud mother of two, Jessica Alba is currently starring in Spy Kids: All The Time In The World. And it’s her experiences as a mother that helped prepare her for the role.

“I think it was helpful. I don’t know if I would have even done this movie if I wasn’t a parent, so I actually brought my real life experience to work,” she said. “It was more natural and I’ve been in a lot of those circumstances for sure.”

“It was nice to see someone in the movie who struggles with it, and who isn’t perfect at doing it all, and is also torn between working or staying home,” she pointed out.

“Those are all things that moms can, or parents really, can relate to. It’s tough to go back to work and it’s tough to spend so much time away from your kid, but then you have to make a living. It’s also important to hang on to your own identity and be a good example. There’s all these things that you struggle with as a parent and I thought it would be nice to have that in the movie.”

Did you go and see Spy Kids 4 yet?
