Are The Saturdays Coming To The United States?!

saturdays-rumored-for-reality-television-series

Good lord, we hope that this is legit!

One of our favorite British girl groups, The Saturdays, are reportedly finalizing a deal with the E! Network for a "five season" reality series that will track the quintet as they attempt to break into US mainstream after signing with a stateside record label!

A source close to the girls reveals:

"If it goes well it could transform them from a UK girl band to international stars."

They certainly deserve to be!

We love them, and it's about time they made the MOVE!

Fingers crossed for you ladies!

It’s Official: Sex and the City Prequel The Carrie Diaries is Coming to the CW,Gossip Girl Producers On Board

This rumor has been three years in the making. Seriously, we reported on it in 2008. Finally, in 2011, Deadline is confirming that Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, is indeed set to go into production as a TV series on the CW.

The show is tapping former SATC writer Amy Harris and will be executive produced by Candace Bushnell, and Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. As of now, neither Sarah Jessica Parker nor Darren Star, both of whom produced Sex and the City on HBO, are involved. No word yet on if Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively, or Olsen little sis Lizzie, will star in the series.

Considering how the SATC sequel movies have gone, we don’t necessarily have high hopes for the TV show…But at least we’ll get to see a young Carrie try to pull of terrible 80s styles, right?

Blues Brothers Coming To TV

blues-brothers-tv-show.jpg

The duo made famous by Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi will be reincarnated in a new TV version that is currently being pitched to studios and networks.

The pilot has the Blues Brothers out of jail with Elwood, who was raised in an orphanage, looking for his real father.

John Belushi's ex-wife Judy Belushi, who owns the rights along with Aykroyd, will co-executive produce the project. Aykroyd will have involvement in the show as Jake and Elwood's parole officer.

Judy Belushi spoke about the TV project, saying:

"I think these are great American characters. We want to keep them alive. We chose to introduce them as new characters but do it in an way that they have some history, have some life behind them."

Meanwhile, co-executive producer Anne Beatts says:

"We're not trying to replicate Dan and John but Jake and Elwood. If the pilot goes to series, each episode would include a musical number, presumably featuring a new Blues Brothers band.

It would be Route 66 meets Glee, and it all goes to hell in a handbasket."

LOLz! What?! Blues Brothers and Glee?? Hmm…sounds…interesting??

P.S. Remember Blues Brothers 2000?? Was that even a hit?! Which makes us think, is this really necessary??

ryan-reynolds-to-produce-new-tv-comedy.jpg

Ryan Reynolds is expanding his talents.

He will be returning to television (2 Guys and a Girl, anyone??) - as an executive producer.

His production company Dark Fire has sold its first project to Fox. \

The show, Guidance, will star Mad Love's Tyler Labine and is described as an adult buddy comedy set in high school.

So far, this sounds pretty awesome….

Role Models and Just Go With It writer Tim Dowling is attached to write and co-executive produce, along with Ry Ry, Jonathon Komack Martin, Steve Pearl and Allan Loeb.

Sounds like this could be a hit! We have faith in you, Ryan!
