Justin Timberlake Rocks Irving Plaza, NYC

Posted Friday September 2, 2011 8:26 AM GMT

He’s always up to something, and last night (September 1) Justin Timberlake was in the house at Irving Plaza in New York City to present the FreeSol concert.

The “Like I Love You” singer looked to be in fine form as he sang an acoustic version of “Cry Me A River” for the enthusiastic crowd.

And yesterday was a big day for Justin’s 901 Tequila brand, as the date was 9/01 or National 901 Day and the concert began at 9:01pm.

Of the gig, Justin’s business partner Kevin Ruder told press, “Since we’re sponsoring it, it’s a 21-plus show, and that helps tremendously. We don’t have to worry about anyone too young being somewhere that we don’t want them to be. I think it will mimic both FreeSol’s style and our own style, which is geared toward a young, edgy crowd who are looking for something a little different. They’re a tremendous band, they’re young and we’ve been sponsoring them from the get go because we really like what we’re about. I think it will be that 22-35 year old crowd that likes music that’s a bit different, like urban pop with a lot of horns. It’s just a great hi-tempo show."
