Diamond Planets Are A Geek's Best Friend!

Diamond Planet Milky Way

A wonderful new discovery has been made right in our very own Milky Way.

Upper East Siders, brace yourselves!

There is a planet made entirely of DIAMOND!

Ooooh! So THAT's what Elizabeth Taylor has been up to since her crossing over!

The newly discovered planet is a dense one and lies about 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Serpens.

Largely consisting of crystallized carbon, astronomers are always betting there's oxygen on the planet too.

Oh good! Does this mean we can live on a diamond?!?

Well, not quite…

But PSR J1719-1438 IS bigger than our home, measuring 60,000 km across, five times the Earth's diameter, and weighs 300 times more than our beloved Earth.

Wow! That's a lot of awesome information. Hopefully scientists can unlock more secrets like this soon!
