Companies with any sort of history are trying to capitalize on the current nostalgic heritage craze that shows no signs of dying down. Even though it’s only been around since the 1970s, Jordache jeans is trying to grab some of that nostalgia. And we fully support them, if these stills from an upcoming commercial–due out in September–are any indication of what is to come.
The brand tapped Nigel Barker, he of America’s Next Top Model fame, to film 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden wearing Jordache jeans through the decades. The commercial will air in September, and marks the brand’s first return to TV advertising in 20 years. The collection will be carried exclusively at Wal-Mart.
While the 1980s look (above) is obviously dated (acid wash? *shudder*), the 70s look (below), could be any girl walking down the street today. Fascinating to see how fashion reinvents itself.
