Amanda Knox: Homeward Bound

Posted Tuesday October 4, 2011 8:06 AM GMT

She’s spent the past four years in an Italian jail after she was convicted of murder, but earlier today (October 4) Amanda Knox was rejoicing as she flew back to the USA.

The 24-year-old woman flew from Rome to London where she boarded a flight to Seattle, Washington after a Perugia court overturned her murder conviction.

Ms. Knox had been convicted of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007 with the help of her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, but when key DNA evidence was found to be unreliable she was set free.

And now Kercher’s brother Lyle Kercher is confused about what to make of the ordeal. "We want to say we accept the decision but we are also looking at how a decision so certain a few years ago should be overturned. Rudy Guede's appeal was upheld by the court and the court agreed he wasn't acting alone. So, if those two aren't guilty, who are the others? We're back at Square One, and the search goes on to find out what really happened."
