Memorial 9/11 Wine?!? WTF?!?

Long Island's Lieb Cellars Memorial 911 Wine

Long Island's Lieb Cellars is selling wine made with grapes grown "90 miles from the site of the World Trade Center," and marketing it as 9/11 memorial wine.

Wait, it gets worse…

It's being priced at $19.11!!!

Too soon, right? Well, get this! According to their website, "the concept emerged at harvest just days after the September 11 disaster."

OH. WOW.

Of course, we don't think there will ever be a right time to make a profit off such a tragedy.

And only 6-10% of the proceeds will go to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. Ha, we're surprised it's not 9-11 percent.

We're glad that at least some of the proceeds will help, but at such a small percentage, it seems rather empty.

Even celebrity foodie Anthony Bourdain commented on the hot mess, tweeting:

@NoReservations — 911 Wine?!!? Are you out your f*@%ing MIND?!! EPIC FAIL.

And another tweeter chimed in with:

@FDNYEMSwebsite — What's next a 9/11-themed McRib sandwich made with beef from Pennsylvania cows raised near the Flight 93 Memorial Park?

Seriously. Wine is supposed to be classy, and this is just plain tacky.
